About

Member of the Rideau Lakes Artists Association, the Frontenac Arch Biosphere Reserve and the Kingston Field Naturalists.

As an artist, I’ve had the privilege of pursuing my passion for the past ten years here in the picturesque Land ‘o Lakes area, nestled north of Kingston, Ontario. This region boasts a diverse and rustic terrain, adorned with Canadian Shield rock formations, countless lakes, and expansive forests.

Nature has always been my greatest muse, and it’s nearly impossible for me to witness a truly breathtaking scene of water and sky without mentally capturing it on canvas. The beauty of the natural world fuels my artistic inspiration, and I strive to depict it in my landscapes with every brushstroke.

Beyond the captivating landscapes, I also find great fascination in portraying the rich cultural heritage of this area. The history and traditions woven into the fabric of this land are like threads that I weave into my artwork, creating a tapestry that tells the story of those who came before us.

My artistic style is ever-evolving as I continuously explore new techniques and experiment with different approaches. However, I find myself gravitating towards realism, particularly in my portraits of people, animals, and the weathered remnants of human habitation that sprinkle the landscape. These elements carry a unique charm, a testament to the resilience of those who have called this place home over the years.

When it comes to mediums, I have developed a fondness for acrylic paint. Its versatility allows me to bring out the sharp edges of rocks, the textures of tree bark, and the gentle fluidity of water. With each brushstroke, I strive to capture the essence of the subject and evoke emotions in those who view my artwork.

In this serene corner of the world, I am grateful for the opportunity to pursue my art with such passion and dedication. The Land ‘o Lakes area provides me with an endless source of inspiration, and I am honored to share glimpses of its beauty and history through my artistic endeavors.
